Report from CircusWatch WA"Thank you for your support in the last few months regards the circus issue. It is so important to keep on with the pressure and as we have the circus on the back foot it becomes even more so. I do not ask for your money only a little time to attend demos and writing a few letters. The policy that was voted on, in Cockburn April 15, allowing the circus to use their land is a glitch and only a glitch. It is not the end of the matter nor should be thought of in that manner. I am convinced that the policy is only here for a short period as we will have a new council in May 3rd that can change everything. We will get a ban back in and it is only a matter of time. It is not at all usual for a council to remove a policy, or go 'backwards' unless there is someone on the inside helping out. Keep watching and please trust me on this one. Remember, it is voting time for local government and to all those of you that live in Cockburn, Bassendean and Rockingham think carefully about who you vote for. If you are not at all sure then call them up or email me. I can then direct you to those that will serve both animals and humans well. The Cystic Fibrosis Association were quoted as being great supporters of the circus and a letter to them would be a fantastic way of letting the assn know we are not impressed with their endorsement. Write a polite and pleasant letter to the CEO. The address is in the phone book. Also letters to the councils that are examining the issue is also a good way of impressing upon the councillors minds that people out there are not happy and that they ought to look carefully at what they are doing with in their district. Those same letters to the local papers is a tremendous method of getting the whole anti cruelty message out there and I have found that since I started this campaign the papers have been a wonderful support. Use them as much as possible. Listen to 6PR, they have a talkback everyday and on Tuesday mornings the Premier is in the studio, an ideal time to ring and ask questions of him. Put him on the spot. The RSPCA has been an asset in their help too. They have placed adverts in papers in both Cockburn and Bassendean and that is just terrific, so thanks to the RSPCA. They will be inspecting the circus upon arrival at Cockburn. Thats pretty much it, so thanks again for all your help and please do not think that we are not winning this one because we are and we will. In fact the more this particular animal cruelty issue hits the public the more people are forced to consider animal cruelty in all it's aspects and as a whole. That is great. Stardust has booked the use of Dixon Reserve for Tuesday 29th April to May 4th May - 3 shows per day, 11am, 2pm and 7.30pm. We will demonstrate: And at Dixon Reserve, Rockingham Rd, Hamilton Hill on Lets' show them we haven't given up on this important issue!"
